Spaz Stix catalog changes June 21st 2008
Recently i was informed of some changes which would be taking place, and they've actually happened far sooner than i'd anticipated, and with it comes a mixture of good news and bad.

A couple of months back I was told the manufacturer of the plastic bottles was discontinueing the 1oz bottles, and after looking for new sources and consider other options, and the decision was taken to stick with the current supplier but move to 2oz bottles. After some negotiating with the various sources, considering the requirement for larger quantities in order to keep sufficient stock, and investing in longer-term quantities (ie 12mth instead of 3mth stock) we have been able to come up with a new pricing structure which should easily outweigh the negatives. We knew that in order to drop 1oz and only sell 2oz would require a significant saving for the customer, a 5-10% discount would be insignificant and would be unacceptable, but with the changes made within Spaz Stix, we feel we can now offer our customers the paints at a price we couldnt have done before.

All 1oz products while available will still be sold at their normal price, and once stock dries up they will be discontinued for the foreseeable future. Also, 2oz bottles will be sold where available, these will be sold for approximately 150% price of a 1oz bottle, a saving of ~25% in total. For example:
1oz Mirror Chrome = £7.50
2oz Mirror Chrome = £12.00, equivelent of £6.00/oz and a saving of £3.00.

At the moment, this change only effects 1 item, the Mirror Chrome is no longer available in 1oz, there are only a small number of products which a 2oz bottle will also be available, this is due to no further supplies of 1oz left in stock at Spaz Stix, so 2oz were sent, and any 1oz bottles available are in limited numbers. For most items, we have plenty of 1oz bottles, but in the future it can be expected that they will slowly filter out.

I suspect this news will be greated with mixed reviews, the vast majority of our customers order most items in multiples and im sure they'll appreciate the significant saving this brings, something we couldnt really have offered otherwise. Equally, i know as a painter myself it would have been nice to have kept the 1oz bottles at their normal price, and offer the signficant savings of the 2oz too, unfortunately we have little choice in this matter, and hopefully the effort and commitment to all Spaz Stix Paint customers in managing to pass on such a saving will be appreciated.
Additionally, I will be looking into other alternatives on the 1oz path, but I make no promise on anything coming from it. If I can find a source myself, I may consider bottling some in a 'no frills' budget style approach, just a basic sticky label on a bottle of paint. If i find a solution, i will place a poll on the site to judge customer opinion.
If your unhappy with this news, or think its great, i'd appreciate knowing what people think and hopefully be able to act upon it and improve our service. You can contact me at PChapman@SpazStix.co.uk

Pro-Painter Interviews April 28th 2008
The first interview from the Professional Painter Interviews will go online on Thursday 1st May with Finnish painter Vesa Yli first under the spotlight. Other well known painters are already lined up for interviews, and will be announced 2 weeks before they go up, typically the 1st day of each month.

Stock level display April 28th 2008
Added today was the ability to see whether the items being ordered were in stock, now you will only be able to add items into your basket if they are currently in stock. Stock levels are checked roughly every 24hrs, a near fool-proof automatic stock level monitor will be created shortly, making the likelyhood of ordering an out of stock product extremly unlikely.

New website launched April 26th 2008
